Shannon + Eric ~ Sea Cider Farm and Winery
Shannon and Eric… sigh… what an easy going, lovely couple, and what a cool wedding. It was one-of-a-kind thanks to Shannon’s crafty DIY ways.
Man, I love “first looks”. Does it get any sweeter? (The ceremony and reception were held at Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse. Laura Eichorn photographed the day. Melanie Baird did the makeup and Elena Roberts of Conscious Hair did her beautiful up-do. The stunning dress is from White Peony.)
Shannon and Eric lived around the world because of school and jobs—Norway and Scotland to name just two. Through her handmade details, the wedding paid homage to how far they’ve traveled together to get to where they are now.
DIY perfection—personal and beautiful.
Shannon’s bouquet was one of my favourites because I love foxglove, but it’s difficult to get commercially as a cut flower, BUT I found a pot with three foxglove blooms on it in a sale section of a nursery-the blooms were white with little purple speckles on them. I’ve always wanted to use foxgloves. The other cool thing about this bouquet was that Ryan from Mt Newton Floral (my wholesaler) had randomly brought in a bunch of purple clematis, which is also really hard to get commercially. In Europe they’re growing it in long stems to use it in floral and it’s not usually available over here, but one of my supplier’s suppliers had purchased some from Holland and we happened to hit the jackpot.
The “centrepieces” were actually a casual arrangement of votives, herbs and the odd flower or two. The result is pretty lovely and romantic, no?All our love, Shannon and Eric, on your next chapter.

Thank you Verbena Floral Design Inc.! The flowers for Shannon and Eric’s wedding were absolutely stunning! We appreciated all that you did to make the day so special and beautiful!
